Where did Jesus go for 18 years?

Ancient texts reveal that Jesus spent 17 years in the Orient. They say that from age 13 to age 29, Jesus traveled to India, Nepal, Ladakh and Tibet as both student and teacher.
What happened to Jesus when he all but disappeared from the scriptures at 12-years-old only to resurface at around 30 to begin his ministry? Of course, the widely accepted Christian belief is that he spent these years plying his trade as a carpenter in Galilee, but there's little reference to that in the bible.
During Jesus first 30 years, He did no miracles and preached no sermons. At 30 , He left Nazareth and went to a place along the banks of the Jordan River. Someone was there getting the Jewish people ready for their Messiah, the Promised One.
Gospel account
The episode is described in Luke 2:41–52. Jesus, at the age of twelve, accompanies Mary and Joseph, and a large group of their relatives and friends to Jerusalem on pilgrimage, "according to the custom" – that is, Passover.
In the 19th and 20th centuries theories began to emerge that between the ages of 12 and 29 Jesus had visited India and Nepal for Spiritual enlightenment inspiring from Hinduism, or had studied with the Essenes in the Judaean Desert.
Based on the wording in 1 Peter, there's an argument that Jesus spent the weekend between His death and Resurrection in Hell preaching to the souls who were already there, giving them a chance at the forgiveness available through His sacrifice not previously available before His death.

Birth of Jesus
While he was there with Mary, she gave birth to Jesus; but because there was no place for them in the inn, she used a manger as a cradle. From the age at which Jewish maidens became marriageable, it is possible that Mary gave birth to her son when she was about thirteen or fourteen years of age.

In the second story, he entered Jerusalem at 12 years of age for the family's annual Feast of Passover visit (Luke 2:41-51). Every year Jesus went to the Feast with his parents, family, and friends. However, when his parents left to go home to Nazareth, he stayed behind in Jerusalem.
There's no place in the Bible that says they were saved. But there is no place in the Bible that indicates the couple was lost, either.
What did Jesus do while in the grave?
Another main activity, while his body lay in the tomb, was to visit the spirits of those who had died. He said on one occasion, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.” (John 5:25.)

Of course, Jesus was a Jew. He was born of a Jewish mother, in Galilee, a Jewish part of the world. All of his friends, associates, colleagues, disciples, all of them were Jews. He regularly worshipped in Jewish communal worship, what we call synagogues.
